For the second year in a row, Raritan Township is named on of new jersey’s safest cities. The report points to a growing business community, low student to teacher ratios, and friendly neighborhoods as draws. The township of more than 22,000 residents "reported just four violent crimes in 2013". This results in a violent crime rate that's roughly 96 percent less than the typical American community. The stats: .18 violent crimes per 1,000 people, and 8.65 property crimes per 1,000.
